This year was one of the best birthdays I have had – It is also the day I started my Urban Zen Integrative Therapy training. What an amazing experience to begin the training with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee (among many others), who are so passionate about changing the face of healthcare in our country and around the world!

The in bed yoga therapy movements may seem simple to the average healthy person, but they can be a godsend for those who are stuck in a┬áhospital bed or at home and unable to get around. they not only help increase circulation, increase digestion and decrease muscle tension, but they also give the person some tools to use on their own so they can help themselves to feel better. Combined with breath awareness and meditation, it creates an atmosphere of true relaxation and peace – something that is hard to find during illness and especially in a hospital setting!

The essential oil therapy can do so much more than I ever imagined for balancing the body and the mind! There are oils that reduce pain and stress, calm the nervous system, improve digestion, boost confidence and courage, and more! Some even have the ability to take reduce anxiety levels while elevating mood!! When 60+ people where given the oils in our training, the scents spread through the room and the effects where very powerful!

It is going to be a lot of work, study and practice but it will also be one of the most rewarding things I have ever done for myself and Yoga Remedy. To be able to give someone a sanctuary of peace and rest in the midst of illness, the unknown and crisis will be an incredible gift to give. I am so grateful that the Urban Zen Foundation and Yoga on High has given me this opportunity to serve!!!!
